Clinigen Group, a global specialty pharmaceutical products and services business, opened their new Global Operations Centre in Stretton, on the outskirts of Burton-on-Trent. Local MP for Burton & Uttoxeter, Andrew Griffiths, was joined by the Mayor, Cllr Patricia Ackroyd, to open the new 8,000 square foot, state of the art facility.
The Clinigen Group have had an impressive 3 years of growth, coming top of the latest The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table. Peter George, Chief Executive of Clinigen commented “we are continuing to expand and have ambitious plans for the future. It is essential that we have the right resource and facilities to service our clients, both now, and as we continue to develop”.
Daren Milsom, Operations Centre Manager, commented “These new facilities will enable us to stock and distribute pharmaceutical products to our global customer base in a fast and efficient manner. This is essential in an ever increasing competitive marketplace”.
The new Operations Centre, combined with the companyʼs Headquarters based in Burton, have created over 30 new job opportunities in recent months. “Whilst we are very much a global company, it is fantastic to be able to support our local community and contribute to the local economy” added Mr George.
Clinigen Group was formed by merger in 2010 to create a specialty pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical services company focused on getting medicines to physicians and their patients. The merger brought together three companies: Clinigen CTS (formerly Keats Healthcare) and Clinigen GAP, which make up Clinigenʼs services division, and Clinigen Healthcare, the groupʼs products business.
